Tribal Housing
About the Tribal Housing Program
The Waccamaw Siouan Tribal Housing Program is funded by the Native American Housing and Self-Determination Act (NAHASDA), which was signed into law by President Bill Clinton in 1996. The law allocated funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to Indian Tribes to provide safe and sanitary housing for low to moderate income families. This program assists low to moderate income families with homebuyers education and housing counseling, rehabilitation of owner occupied dwellings, and down payment assistance for first time homebuyers. Promoting Fair Housing, this office complies with the Fair housing and Equal Opportunity Laws.
How to Submit Forms
A Tribal Housing Application can be obtained by visiting the tribal office, or by calling to request an application be mailed to you. To submit the application, you can scan and return it via email to Leslie Jones, Housing Coordinator at leslie.jones@waccamaw-siouan.org, drop it off in the office, or by mailing the completed application to us at PO Box 69, Bolton, NC 28423.
For American Indian Contractors
If you are an American Indian Contractor and would like to place your name/business on the qualified bidders list for the Waccamaw Siouan Rehabilitation Program, please complete the Contractor's Application found below and return it to us using either of the methods listed above.
